Scandinavian Model United Nations 2024

Over the weekend of week 6, Nesbru sent 11 delegates to SCANDMUN the annual MUN conference at the International School of Stavanger.  

We flew into Stavanger Saturday morning, headed straight to the conference. On Saturday we got 2 hours for our lunchbreak and spent the time discovering Stavanger. Later we checked into the Clarion Hotel and flew out Sunday evening.  

The theme was Global Security, and there were 3 committees: General Assembly, Security Council, and Economic and Social Council. There were many exciting issues like human trafficking and modern-day slavery, nuclear disarmament, territories in the South China Sea, drug trafficking, and workers' rights.  

The British International School of Stavanger, Oslo International School, Trondheim International School, Gjøvikregionen International School, International School of Bergen, St. Olav VGS, Gjøvik VGS, Stavanger Katedralskole, Kristiansand VGS, Ås VGS, and UWC Red Cross Nordic all attended the conference.  

It was a fun way to get to know other students from around Norway, debate on topics and grow experience although the conference only lasted two days.
