National Model European Parliament 2024

The National Norwegian Model European Parliament was this year hosted at Nesbru VGS from the 25th to 27th of October.


The conference traditionally rotates between Elverum, Jessheim and Nesbru VGS. Inviting students from all 3 schools, and prepares new students for future international MEP conferences.


The school had the honour of having the EU delegation to Norway and EU ambassador Nicolas de La Grandville speak at the conference on Friday afternoon. From the ambassador students learned more about the EU, and gained insight into actual diplomacy.

Than on Friday we had delicous thai food and arranged activities like grab the mike. Students and teachers at Nesbru helped to host students from Elverum and Jessheim VGS over the weekend and met their guests on Friday evening.

On Saturday delegates had committee sessions and drafted their resolutions, and on Saturday evening we arranged Halloween costume contest. We saw some amazing costumes on the catwalk and great engagment from delegates during official committee sessions!

Sunday we had general assembly were all delegates join to debate in the auditorium, afterwards we had our closing ceremony, and said goodbye to our friends from Elverum and Jessheim.


Overall the MEP conference was educational and fun, challegning delegates and committee presidents (CPs) to step out of their comfort zones! Thank you for a great conference, and thank you to Elverum and Jessheim for attending!
